The Langley Weavers’ and Spinners’ Guild was formed in 1971 under the sponsorship of the Langley Arts Council. Through the support of the Guild our members promote our craft, educate ourselves and each other, and encourage others to keep the art and craft of spinning, weaving, dyeing, felting and knitting alive and thriving.
The objectives of the Guild are:
- To go out into the community to promote our art by demonstrating or giving workshops or exhibiting our work.
- To provide opportunities to members to share knowledge, skills and ideas to further their artistic endeavours.
- To maintain an extensive library, which can be accessed by members, containing material related to all fibre arts promoted by the guild.
- To maintain a scholarship fund available to members to encourage the pursuit of their art.
Please have a look at our Events page for more information on our Live and In-Person amazing variety of Programs and Workshops that are being planned for our Members during the 2023-2024 year. These Programs and Workshops will be held either in-person or virtually, so have a look for more info. We hope to see you soon!
The Langley Weavers’ and Spinners’ Guild meets every third Tuesday of the month except for July, August and December. Currently, our meetings are a mix of virtual and in-person, so check out our Current Events for more info or get in touch with one of our Executive Team Members.
Our in-person General Meetings start at 7:30 pm and the Library will be accessible during the break.
New members are welcome, you don’t need to know how to spin or weave in order to be member. We are a teaching guild. All levels of experience are embraced.
Our Virtual Meetings start at 7pm, through Zoom. Please get in touch with one of the Executive Team Members to be included in the on-line meeting invitation.
