HATS!  FELTED, KNITTED, AND CERAMIC

Whatcom Weavers Guild members Donna Hunter and Marilyn Olsen will share their approaches to hats in several media.

Donna, an accomplished felt-maker, has made felt hats of many shapes and styles.  She will be showing samples of those and describing the process by which they are made. She also teaches novices to make hats in her Blaine studio.  Marilyn, a ceramics artist as well as a fiber artist, has made matching pairs of fanciful ceramic and knit art hats, and will describe her approach to knitting the unusual elements of her knit hats. Members and guests are also invited to bring hats they have made and show them at the meeting.

The meeting will be on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at St. James Presbyterian Church’s lower level meeting room at 910 14th St. in Bellingham.  Admission is free.
